LG 2015 Flagship Rumors: 5.8-Inch 2K Display & Dual-Rear Cameras


We are keeping this hot new leak train rolling this morning! The latest intel is about LG's next 2015 flagship. Even though one of LG's execs recently downgraded the next 2015 LG device from "super premium" to "high class," that doesn't mean it won't be a stout device. In fact, that might be the case in more ways than one.

The latest rumor shares some of the specs for the device and they seem a bit beefy. From the sound of these specs, this next LG will be closer to being another G Pro device than a regular G flagship. The intel indicates that LG is planning on including a 5.8-inch 2K QHD display and dual-rear cameras.

It was only last year that LG paused production of their G Pro line. Could this be a return to form for that line of phablet-style devices?

Removing IMAP folders from Gmail app

Hi

In my Gmail account I have hidden the [IMAP]/Important, [IMAP]/All mail Settings --> labels using the web interface.

Fortunately those folders got disappeared from my desktop Thunderbird's client but unfortunately still showing on my android phone (SGS3).

Is there any way of getting rid of these folders on my phone ?

Cleared Gmail cache , Restarted phone , resynchronized didn't fix the issue

Anyone managed to do this ?

LG Announces a New Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard Called 'The Rolly'


For folks who actually want to be productive with their tablets, LG's latest invention might prove useful. It's called "The Rolly Keyboard" (model KBB-700), and it's basically a foldable bluetooth keyboard that is nearly the same size as your standard PC keyboard.

The Rolly is a Bluetooth 3.0 keyboard in which 4 rows of keys fold up on a central "stick." You can check out the video above for a demo of the device. No details on pricing or availability were revealed at this time, but we will get to see it live at IFA in September.

Hello, does anyone know of a way, or any applications, that would allow me restrict roaming data usage on an app by app basis? I would like to allow only certain apps to use roaming data to cut down on roaming costs. I've searched around for apps that would do that but haven't found anything so far.

Samsung's New 'Ultimate Test Drive' Promo Offers $1 (for 30 Days) Samsung for iPhone


It looks like Sammy is trying to kick Apple in the groin with their latest promotional offer. It's called the "Samsung Ultimate Test Drive" and it aims to get a Samsung into the hands of any iPhone user in the least bit tempted to try out a Samsung device.

The promo actually offers iPhone users the chance to use a new Samsung flagship device for 30 days if they cough up just $1. The program will only work for iPhone users, and in fact, you have to sign up for the program from your iPhone for it to work properly. The three eligible Samsung devices are the Galaxy S6 Edge, the S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5.

You would think that the offer would be free instead of just a buck, but the dollar price for the 30 day tryout actually makes sense. If you do not return whichever Samsung device you choose within 30 days, you will be charged the full retail price for it. The best way for them to secure the phone and setup that future possible transaction is to already charge your card the $1.

Privacy Ace App: Is it any good?

Hello Friends,

My name is Ivaylo and I am new to the forum. I decided to make a registration, because I wanted to ask for some help from you guys. For the past few weeks, I have been looking for an app that can help me protect my personal information (Facebook, Phone gallery, Call logs, etc.) on my smartphone (currently using Samsung Galaxy S5). I have tried quite a few free apps from Google Play such as AppLock, Smart AppLock and the like. Among those, I came across this app called Privacy Ace. To be honest, I liked the design and interface of Privacy Ace. Both very pretty simple and user friendly. On the other hand the other apps I tried (i.e. Smart AppLock) offer more features (i.e. 'Observer' feature; if someone tries to access your phone and enters the wrong password a few times, the app takes a picture of that person and later on you can see who has tried to break into your phone). However Smart AppLock, for example, has kind of a clustered interface. It was really difficult for me to find out how to use the various features of the app. I really got frustrated while trying to figure out how to use it. I am not the most intelligent person, but I know how to use smartphones, if you know what I mean. Still I am looking for something that is simple to use and can get the job done.

So my question basically is: has anyone else tried Privacy Ace and is it any good? How is the app performance-wise? Should I give it a try? Feel free to suggest other apps of the same type too.

Samsung's forays into the smartwatch world have been met with limited success. The primary reason for that could probably be attributed to a square and unattractive design. As soon as Motorola debuted the Moto 360 with a round face, Android fans finally stood up and took notice. From then on, other manufacturers, (like LG) moved to the round face as well. It looks like Samsung has finally decided to join the "in" crowd.

Samsung just shared the above teaser trailer for their next smartwatch. It confirms earlier rumors and reports that Sammy's next design would be round-faced. It also seems to confirm rumors that the device would include a rotating bezel. Could we be seeing an innovative idea from Samsung? :eek:

Google Brings Android One Based Devices to Africa


Apparently Google is doing more than "blessing the rains down in Africa." They just announced some new Android One based devices that will soon be available in Africa. The devices have a fancy name designed to catch consumers' attention: Infinix's HOT 2.

The phones are available now in six different African countries, including Ghana, Ivory Coast and Kenya. They are priced just under $90 USD equivalent. Here's a quick breakdown of specs for the device:
  • Quad-core MediaTek CPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB storage
  • A microSD and dualSIM card slots
  • 8-megapixel primary camera
  • 2-megapixel forward camera
  • 5-inch HD screen
  • 2,200mAh battery

You can also get a "premium" version of the device with a gold paint job and 2GB Ram.

We have two comments regarding this device. One, these specs are not too shabby for a sub-$100 device. Two, why can't more Google devices have microSD slots? Grrrrr....:mad:

DAU — Daily Average Users

When someone downloads your app, you hope they install it, play with it, love it, and play it every day. This is the dream of every developer and the hopes of those who put money into making the app. Developers are always looking for that daily app. Maybe it’s a fitness app, or an alarm apps, or maybe the occasional game app are pushing for the daily user. The daily user is someone who is comfortable with your app and happy to use it on their phone or tablet.

What is DAU?

A DAU is the Daily Average User. Though there are discussions on what is a “daily” user, I consider them anyone who opens the app for any reason in the day. This could be to respond to a message, read a news article, or to see that cat video your friend sent you. Anytime you are using the app today, you are a DAU.

Why is DAU important?

Retention. Keeping people coming back for more is always the best way to know if you will be getting future revenue. TechCrunch had an article stating that most apps lose 2/3 of their users after day one. So keeping them coming is crucial to keeping your app’s popularity strong. Understanding how to keep people using your app everyday and enjoy their usage of your app increases a developers chance to make money through advertisements, micro-transactions, or purchases from the app. Retention is also important because it means that those who use the app everyday are more likely to pay and become an APU (average paying user). The numbers can also help you find some problems within your app you may not have known.
An example given for understanding your apps DAU was the Fox News app. In this article, the app dropped DAUs on weekends by 30%. This might be because people don’t view the news on weekends or there aren’t many large news story shared on the weekends. Fox News can learn from this and add more interesting articles that only are available on the weekend to boost their DAUs on the weekend.



Any other uses of DAU?

DAU and MAU (monthly average users) are always seen together as a DAU/MAU ratio (aka “stickiness”). This ratio gives app developers a great idea about how well their retention are compared to those who use the app sometimes during the month.




Low percentages shows a lack of content or infrequent interest in the app that makes users not want to visit every day and can lead to lower revenue. Stickiness can also show how well your app is doing against your competition. Having a better stickiness means you are doing something better with your users that your competitors haven’t found out about.
