Nexus Pre-Event Round-Up; What We Expect to See Tomorrow

Tomorrow, September 29th at 11AM CT/ 12PM ET / 9AM PT is Google's big 2015 Android & Nexus announcement. A slew of new products are being announced from across multiple lines, and we are very excited by what Google is bringing to the tablet this year. Here's a breakdown of what we can expect from tomorrow's event.

  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Of course, Google's next Android OS will take center stage, since it's time for the new thing to come out. For the most part, it seems like Marshmallow is simply a refinement over Lollipop, although that doesn't mean we won't see a slew of new features.

  • Nexus 5X by LG - The next generation Nexus 5 is coming from LG once again, and that's not surprising. They did a phenomenal job with the first Nexus 5. Their new Nexus 5X may not have the most powerful internal hardware available right now, but it is still a flagship worthy product and should be incredibly efficient with battery life and performance. We will just have to get it in our hands to see if it can live up to the reputation of its ancestor the current Nexus 5.

  • Nexus 6P by Huawei - The new Nexus 6 is coming from a different OEM than Motorola this time. Google chose to give Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei a chance this time. The specs on the phone seem solid, including a new USB Type-C connector. We've even heard rumors the phone might have a microSD slot.

  • New Chromecast - Due to several leaks we know that a new Chromecast is on the horizon for tomorrow's big event. Rumors suggest it will include faster Wi-Fi and a new feature called "Fast Play." We are curious to see what else Google does with the next generation of their amazing little media dongle.

That's the gist of what we know for sure. Will there be any surprises from those crazy Googlers? We are hoping Google will announce that their new Nexus phones have built-in support for Project Fi. What are you hoping to see from the event?
