Acer Announces Gaming Smartphone & Tablet: the Predator 6 & Predator 8


Acer showed off something new at IFA this year. They are hitting the market with a new Android smartphone and tablet that they claim are geared and optimized for gaming. The smartphone is called the Predator 6 and the tablet is called the Predator 8.

Both devices will essentially have the exact same design aesthetics, with one being a bit larger than the other. Here is the spec breakdown for each device and you can see the full press release in the thread below:

Acer Predator 8 Gaming Tablet - US launch on November 6th at $299 - global launch in October with a €349 price tag in Europe and ¥2499 in China
  • 8-inch 1080p display
  • Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor - The Atom x7 is a 64-bit quad-core CPU chip with Intel’s Gen8 graphics architecture - this is Intel's most powerful mobile processor to date
  • 2GB of RAM
  • Lightweight aluminium body
  • Four front facing speakers with support for virtual surround sound
  • Tactile feedback for supported games
  • 2×2 MIMO WiFi
  • 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, supported by a microSD card slot
